Anna  Princeva

Anna Princeva is an Italian soprano of Russian origin, celebrated for her luminous voice and commanding stage presence across the world’s leading opera houses.

Her widely acclaimed portrayal of Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Bregenz Festival, followed by major successes at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Oper Frankfurt and Staatsoper Stuttgart, has established the role as a defining centrepiece of her repertoire.

Princeva is a frequent guest at the Royal Opera House, where she has appeared as Mimì in La bohème, Nedda in Pagliacci and Liù in Turandot. She made her Glyndebourne Festival debut as Alice Ford in Falstaff, further affirming her international stature.

Recent seasons have marked a significant expansion of her repertoire, including Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at Oper Bonn and the title role in Norma at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp. Additional highlights include appearances at the Sydney Opera House, Hamburg State Opera and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Her portrayal of Elsa in Lohengrin earned her a nomination for the prestigious German Theatre Award DER FAUST.

In the 2026/27 season, Princeva’s engagements include her role debut as Aida, returns to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly and in the title role of Manon Lescaut.
